Biography
Dr. Tsakalelli is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine (TUSDM) and has been a full-time faculty member since 2007. She is currently the Preclinical and Clinical Director of removable prosthodontics (RPD) and has served as course director of other courses in the predoctoral program.
Dr. Tsakalelli received her DMD degree from Tufts University and holds her D.D.S. degree from University of Athens School of Dental Medicine in Athens, Greece. She completed her residency in Advanced Education in Prosthodontics and Master's degree in Biomaterials at State University of New York at Buffalo; also a Fellowship Program in Implant Dentistry at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. She is Fellow of the International Team for Implantology (ITI), Center of the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching (CELT) and American Academy of Dental Science (AADS). Dr. Tsakalelli has served as Secretary, Chair-Elect and Chair for the American Dental Education Association (ADEA) Special Interest Group (SIG) on "Implant Dentistry" and she is currently an eligible Section Councilor. She is also member of the Education Committee for the Massachusetts Dental Society.
She has served as a quality assurance faculty member in prosthodontic predoctoral division; served on multiple committees at TUSDM and participated in community health fair events representing the school. Throughout her dental career, she has participated in many research projects and has presented numerous abstracts at both national and international meetings. She has also served as thesis Committee member for the degree of Master of Science in dental research for several candidates at TUSDM and currently serves as the faculty advisor to the American Academy of Women in Dentistry (AAWD) Tufts Chapter and Digital Dentistry Study Club. Dr. Tsakalelli is co-founded of the Digital Dentistry Course for the predoctoral program and has integrated Artificial Intelligence in the Academic Curriculum. Her research areas of interest focus on dental materials, dental education, digital technologies and artificial intelligence.
Dr. Tsakalelli has been practicing Prosthodontics since 2000. She specializes in Implants, Esthetic Dentistry and Full Mouth Oral Rehabilitation. She is committed with excellence and professionalism providing high quality individualized dental care.
