Dry mouth can be caused by a variety of issues, including chronic diseases such as Sjӧgren’s Syndrome, radiation therapy for head and neck cancer, bone marrow transplants, and side effects of medications. Dry mouth can cause an increased risk to develop caries, periodontal disease, bad breath, as well as systemic and fungal infections in the mouth.
