The Oral Medicine Clinic is accepting new patients.

The Oral Medicine Clinic at Tufts Dental School is dedicated to the assessment and treatment of oral conditions in medically compromised patients, including Sjӧgren’s Syndrome and dry mouth. The Division of Oral Medicine at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine provides comprehensive oral health care for patients with medically related disorders of the oral and maxillofacial region.

Services

Our providers serve in the interface between dentistry and medicine, diagnosing and managing diseases and conditions that involve the salivary glands and oral mucosa. These include:

  • Oral complications of cancer treatment
  • Xerostomia/hyposalivation (dry mouth)
  • Acute and chronic oral lesions (e.g., infections, mucocutaneous disorders, cancer and premalignant lesions)
  • Oral manifestations of systemic diseases
  • Burning mouth syndrome
  • Medication-induced necrosis of the jaw

With special expertise in the management of Sjogren syndrome and dry mouth, the Division’s ongoing clinical and research efforts aim to promote optimal overall health.

Insurance & Billing

Treatment in the Oral Medicine clinic is billed through medical insurance—we do not accept dental insurance. If you have questions about insurance and billing, please call the Oral Medicine Insurance & Billing Department at 617-636-2722.
