As a teaching institution, we offer a unique and comprehensive care setting. During the first adult patient visit, we provide a screening and take necessary X-rays. The second visit is a comprehensive oral exam. Your dental treatment plan will then determine the number of appointments that will be needed to complete your procedure(s) and may involve multiple students.
Pediatric visits take less time and fewer sessions, depending on the treatment.
Our faculty-student teams take time to really listen and assess your needs. It’s part of the teaching process, where you will benefit from the expert opinions of multiple, experienced dental professionals and specialists.

Our prices are lower than most private practices, which makes us a great option for patients who either do not have insurance or want to make their insurance coverage go further.

No, a referral is not required for our Comprehensive Care Clinic.
However, some of our specialty clinics do require or recommend a referral from another provider. Please refer to our specialty clinics list.
After becoming a patient at Tufts University Dental Care Center, you can enjoy priority referrals to our specialty clinics, if needed.

If you have another insurance not listed above, you can "self pay." Upon completion of each dental procedure, and after you have made payment in full, we will provide you a claim form which you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

We are unable to offer free care. As a teaching facility, we are committed to offering dental care at lower cost than a typical private practice. We offer self-pay options, and payment plans through LendingClub.

Our Adult Dentistry Comprehensive Care Clinic is open Monday – Thursday: 9 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. and Friday: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Our Pediatric Dentistry Clinic is open Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Friday: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Clinic hours vary by specialty, with some offering extended hours during certain days of the week.
