Department of Endodontics
The Department of Endodontics offers an accredited two-year program designed to prepare the resident for eligibility for the American Board of Endodontics, and a competent professional clinician who has an in depth understanding of the science and practice of endodontics. Additionally, the department integrates didactic and clinical endodontic training into the school’s DMD program.
Postgraduate Program
Program Director: Zameera Fida
The purpose of this two-year postdoctoral program is to develop competent endodontists with a proper background in the clinical and biological sciences, research methodology, and teaching. The clinical experience, with an emphasis on surgery, utilizes the latest in technology and techniques. This broadly based education in endodontics and related phases of graduate education provides the student with a thorough preparation for specialty clinical practice and/or teaching. The program is also designed to satisfy the guidelines for certification by the American Board of Endodontics.
Predoctoral Program
Program Director: Kerith Rankin
The predoctoral program of instruction in Endodontics is an integral component of the dental curriculum during the second, third and fourth years of dental school. This program is structured to include both a didactic endodontic course as well as a preclinical endodontic laboratory during the sophomore year. During the junior and senior years, students diagnose and treat clinical endodontic cases as well as attend a series of advanced endodontic seminars.
