Biography
I am a full-time non-tenure track Professor of Prosthodontics at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.
My dental training began in Turkey, where I earned a dental degree in 1991 and completed specialty training in prosthodontics in 1994. Later that year, I moved to the United States and pursued advanced studies at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. I completed a DMD license program, fellowships in Craniomandibular Disorders and Implant Dentistry, and a certificate program in Advanced Education in Prosthodontics, as well as a Master of Science degree.
As an educator, I have taught over 4,500 predoctoral dental students and 40 postgraduate residents through clinical supervision, lectures, and workshops. Currently, I serve as the course director for Implant Dentistry and teach in the prosthodontics department across the predoctoral and postgraduate divisions, including the Prosthodontics Certificate Program and Esthetic Dentistry Fellowship. I am also deeply engaged in curriculum digitalization efforts at the school and supervise the predoctoral CAD/CAM clinic.
I represent the dental school faculty at the University Faculty Senate. I have served on several key standing and management committees, including the Executive Faculty Committee, Technology Committee, Research Committee, Digital Dentistry Committee, and Implant Committee.
Additionally, I am a member of the editorial board of the *Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry*.
Previously, I worked as a staff prosthodontist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Medical Center for nine years, including two years as the chief of service of the dental clinic, before transitioning to private practice.
As a practicing prosthodontist, I am dedicated to improving my patients' oral health-related quality of life. I approach each case with a professional attitude, regardless of complexity. By combining my expertise in diagnosis and treatment planning with advanced clinical skills, I create tailored treatment plans for every patient. My focus includes replacing missing teeth, restoring damaged or worn dentitions, and enhancing function and esthetics using dental implants, traditional and digital technologies, and fixed or removable prostheses.
