Biography

Dr. Cynthia Yered is Associate Professor and Director of the Community Service Learning Externship Program in the Department of Public Health and Community Service. Dr. Yered earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine (TUSDM) and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the National Dental Honor Society. She completed a two-year General Practice Residency Program at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Brockton, MA.

In addition to maintaining a private practice, Dr. Yered has held several roles at TUSDM, including, Chief Dentist for the Dental Outreach to Survivors Program, a program for survivors of domestic violence, Group Practice Coordinator, Dentist for the Smart Smile Outreach Program, Dental Coordinator for the Ryan White Grant, Director for the dialysis rotation and domestic violence rotations in the Hospital Clerkship Program.

An advocate for public health issues, Dr. Yered served on the board of the New England Rural Health Association and introduced the Poverty Simulation Workshop into the pre-doctoral dental curriculum.

Dr. Yered is a member of the American Dental Association, the Massachusetts Dental Society, the American Dental Education Association, the New England Rural Health Association, Massachusetts Rural Council on Health and Omicron Kappa Upsilon Xi Xi Chapter.
