Biography

Dr. Thaisa Bordin is Assistant Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine (TUSDM), a faculty at the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) Boston MaxiCourse, and a clinical Prosthodontist in private practice in Newton, MA, USA. Dr. Bordin received her first dental degree (DDS) from the State University of West of Parana in Brazil. She completed her certificate in Prosthodontics, Master of Science (MS) and Doctor of Philosophy in Dental Sciences Program (PhD) at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. She also worked in private practice for approximately 4 years before moving to the US. She had the opportunity to become a visiting student at TUSDM contributing with different departments developing research for a year. She then received her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from TUSDM.

Recognized educator, lecturer, and clinician, Dr. Bordin lectures nationally and internationally. She is author and co-author of many scientific articles and book chapters. As an enthusiastic and dedicated faculty at TUSDM, Dr. Bordin has been recognized in 2018 with the American Dental Education Association (ADEA) Emerging Academic Leaders Program, 2019 AAL Advancement of Women Faculty in Clinical Professions Scholarship to attend the Institute for Teaching and Learning Program, 2020 TUSDM Tree Fund to attend a professional development program for academic leaders in health care from Harvard Macy Institute, and 2022 TUSDM Dean's Award for Outstanding Teaching Services.

She is a member of the American Dental Education Association (ADEA) and has served in the past three years the ADEA Special Interest Group Career Development for New Dental Educators. In addition, she is a member of the International Team for Implantology (ITI). Dr. Bordin has received comprehensive training and experience using the most advanced techniques and technologies for dental rehabilitations. She is fully trained and experienced in the field of esthetics and prosthetic rehabilitation on natural teeth and implants and continues to explore innovations to advance the prosthodontics field.

Her clinical areas of interest focus on fixed and removable prostheses, dental implants, digital workflow, minimally invasive dentistry, and esthetic dentistry. Dr. Bordin's academic interests include evidence-based care, research, and the integration of technology in dental education.
