Biography

Dr. Wai S Cheung earned a DDS degree from the National Yang-Ming University, Taipei Taiwan and a DMD degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. In addition, she completed the Advanced Specialty Program in Periodontology, successfully fulfilled the requirements for the Master's degree in Science at Tufts, and was further awarded with the prestigious Abram and Sylvia Chasens Teaching and Research Fellowships from the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation. Over the years, she has been teaching both clinically and didactically, mentoring master's students. Dr. Cheung published on topics relating to periodontal plastic surgeries and implant therapy, lectured nationally and internationally. She is a past President of Massachusetts Periodontal Society. She is currently sitting on the Research Committee at the American Academy of Periodontology, a reviewer for the Journal of Periodontology, co-chairing the Teaching and Learning in an Environment of New Technology(TALENT) committee, one of the American Dental Education Association Commission on Curriculum Innovation(ADEACCI) liaisons, as well as the interim Assistant Director for the Postdoctoral Program in the Department of Periodontology. She also practices in the Greater Boston area.
