Biography
Kanchan Ganda, MD is Professor and Head, Division of Medicine, Department of Comprehensive Care at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine (TUSDM) and Associate Staff at the Department of Dentistry, Tufts Medical Center. She is a licensed physician and has been on faculty at TUSDM since 1980. Dr. Ganda serves as the Course Director & teacher for the Pre-doctoral Year 1-3 Medicine Programs as well as the Post-doctoral Medicine Course. In addition to her curriculum development and teaching responsibilities, Dr. Ganda holds numerous other appointments overseeing programs and initiatives for HIV/AIDS patients (Ryan White HIV/AIDS Dental Reimbursement Program), medically complex patients, victims of domestic violence-intimate partner violence (Dental Outreach To Survivors/DOTS Program), and urgent care in the underserved populations (SUPPORT Program). She is sole author of the text, "Dentists Guide to Medical Conditions, Medications & Complications", initially published in 2008, and then republished again as a second edition, in 2013. She is the recipient of numerous teaching awards, research grants and community recognition. Dr. Ganda earned her medical degree in 1973 from G.S. Medical College and upon graduation, completed her Medical Internship and Residency in Anesthesiology at King Edward Memorial Hospital, Bombay India.
