Biography

Dr. N. Guzin Uzel received her DMD from University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and completed her Periodontology Certificate and Doctor of Medical Sciences (DMSc) degree at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. She also received her Certificate in Microbiology from The Forsyth Institute, where she has conducted several basic science and clinical research studies.
Dr. Uzel has published several peer-reviewed papers and book chapters on both basic science and clinical applications of periodontics. She taught for several years at Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine where she served as the Clinical Director of Postdoctoral Periodontology and received the AAP award for Outstanding Teaching and Mentoring in Periodontics. She is currently an assistant professor and Director of Research Education at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.
