Biography

Dr. Meletia Laskou is the Postdoctoral Program Director at the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.

She received a DDS degree from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Dental School, a DMD degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and an Advanced Education Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. She also completed a two-year residency at the department of Pediatric Dentistry at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and Tufts-New England Medical Center where she maintains Admitting, Clinical and Surgical privileges. She also has hospital privileges at Franciscan Children's Hospital.

Dr. Laskou is Board Certified in Pediatric Dentistry, a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

She has extensive teaching experience in Pediatric Dentistry at the predoctoral and postdoctoral levels. Additionally, she has extensive clinical experience in the dental treatment of children, including children with special health care needs.

She has participated in many community outreach programs and has provided extensive interprofessional education and collaboration with pediatricians and other health care professionals.

Dr. Laskou's research interests include the use of different restorative materials in primary teeth and dietary and oral care habits of children with severe early childhood caries that require dental treatment under general anesthesia.
