Biography

IL Won Chang, DDS, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where he teaches in the postgraduate prosthodontics program. He is a board certified prosthodontist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, and he practices at Dental Associates in Quincy, and at South Shore Crown and Implant Center in East Bridgewater, Massachusetts.

His clinical and teaching focus is complex restorative dentistry: full mouth rehabilitation, dental implants, full arch implant treatment including All-on-X, fixed and removable dental prostheses, esthetic crowns and veneers, and restoration of occlusal vertical dimension in patients with severe tooth wear.

Dr. Chang earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the Indiana University School of Dentistry and completed his advanced prosthodontics residency at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where he received the Excellent Achievement in Prosthodontics award. He holds a BS in Engineering Sciences from Tufts University. That background shapes how he practices: digital scanning, 3D imaging, virtual treatment planning and CAD/CAM are routine parts of how he plans and delivers prosthodontic treatment.

He joined the Tufts faculty in December 2024 and was certified by the American Board of Prosthodontics in April 2026.
