Biography
Dr. Imran Ahson, MD, DMD, is a faculty member of the Tufts Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Ahson completed his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering at the University of Florida. During his time there, he worked extensively with the Center for Implant Dentistry, and created technology that assisted in implant design. He went on to complete dental school, medical school, and surgical residency at the University of Florida, as well as a fellowship in Pediatric Craniofacial Surgery at the Florida Craniofacial Institute. His training included extensive experience in the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery as well as craniofacial surgery; and has written and lectured nationally on various topics in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
In addition to working at Tufts, Dr. Ahson is one of the founders of MassOMS/NHOMS, a large private practice with multiple locations throughout the Northeast. His focus is on oral reconstruction with dental implants and orthognathic surgery. Dr. Ahson is also passionate about using his skills to help underserved populations. He travels yearly to provide healthcare and cleft lip/palate surgeries in developing countries including Bangladesh, Guatemala, Pakistan, Thailand, and Ecuador.
