Biography

Dr. Alt-Holland is Associate Professor and a cancer researcher at the Department of Endodontics, Tufts University School of Dental Medicine (TUSDM). She was a Research Associate at TUSDM and a Post-Doc scholar at SUNY at Stony Brook. Prior to that, she earned her Ph.D. degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from Bar-Ilan University in Israel, where she also received her M.Sc and B.Sc degrees. As a full-time faculty member, Dr. Alt-Holland mentors graduate and undergraduate students and faculty from TUSDM, as well as students from other colleges from the States and from overseas. She is the director of different courses for undergraduate dental students as well as post-graduate dental residents. Her laboratory focuses on skin and oral cancer research with main interests in bioengineered tissue models of human premalignant and malignant tissues, identification of novel molecular targets for cancer therapy and predictive and prognostic biomarkers for cancer development and regression.
