Tufts Urgent Dental Care Clinic
We’re here to help when the unexpected happens. Tufts Urgent Dental Care Clinic serves adult patients who need urgent dental treatment for acute pain or swelling. Patients are cared for by DMD predoctoral students with faculty or resident supervision for a team-based approach to your care.
Pediatric patients with urgent dental needs should visit the Pediatric Clinic.
What to Expect
The Urgent Dental Care Clinic operates as a walk-in, first-come, first-served basis with a limited number of adult patients that can be seen. Due to limited space, patients should not bring guests, such as friends, family, and children.
Hours and Check-in Process
Tufts Urgent Dental Care Clinic is open Monday through Friday, 9–10:30 a.m. and 1–2:30 p.m. Check-in is at 8 a.m.
Please know that we can only accommodate a limited number of patients per day. If we are unable to serve you when you arrive, you will be asked to return for the next available session. We are not able to hold spots in advance.
Cost
There is an initial fee of up to $200 for an exam and radiographs that is due at the time of service. You can learn more about our commitment to affordability.
What to Do When the Urgent Dental Care Clinic is Closed
If you have an emergency when the Urgent Dental Care Clinic is closed (e.g., nights, weekends, and holidays), call Tufts Medical Center at 617-636-5114 and asking for “Emergency Dental Care.” (NOTE: The Tufts Medical Center’s hours and fees are not the same as our Urgent Clinic’s hours and fees.)
Your Next Visit Doesn’t Have to Be an Emergency
If you do not have a dentist already, we encourage you to become a patient at our Comprehensive Care Clinic. You can learn more about all of our clinics and services.
