Service Learning and Volunteering

The Department of Public Health and Community Service oversees the Community Service Rotations (CSL), which give students the opportunity to interact with community members outside of the four-walls of the clinic. Students gain the necessary skills, knowledge, and confidence to work with diverse, often vulnerable and underserved communities. Providing outreach allows students to better understand how social determinants and health disparities affect oral health.

In addition, TUSDM has an active roster of over 40 student organizations, many of which prioritize volunteering to provide community-based oral health education. Learn more about volunteering in the community.

Whether you know exactly what type of position you are looking for, or you are still exploring the many types of jobs that exist, keep your eye on the Dental Central Calendar to see events are coming to campus to provide information about opportunities in the field of dentistry.

If you are from an outside organization and are looking to present to the TUSDM community, please visit our Lunch and Learn page to understand the application process. We welcome your interest and look forward to seeing your proposal.
