What to Expect for New Patients
As a teaching institution, we offer a unique and comprehensive care setting.
Our faculty-student teams take time to really listen and assess your needs. It’s part of the teaching process, where you will benefit from the expert opinions of multiple, experienced dental professionals and specialists.
New adult patients complete two initial visits.
Screening Exam and X-Rays
During the first adult patient visit, we provide a screening and take necessary X-rays.
Comprehensive Oral Exam
A comprehensive oral exam typically takes place during the second or third appointment. Your dental treatment plan will then determine the number of appointments that will be needed to complete your procedure(s) and may involve multiple students.
Cleaning and Treatments
Your future appointments include regular cleaning and necessary treatment(s). The exact frequency and type of care required will be unique to you to best address your oral healthcare needs.
Important Information
- Note that appointments typically take two to three hours for adult patients. Pediatric visits often take much less time. Talk to your pediatric dental provider so you can plan ahead.
- Payment is expected at the time of the appointment. This includes co-payments, co-insurances, or full payment for patients without insurance.
