Sangeun Chang

Dr. Chang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Her work focuses on implant prosthodontics, digital dentistry, and comprehensive prosthodontic rehabilitation. She is actively involved in both preclinical and clinical prosthodontic education, with particular interest in integrating digital technologies and contemporary implant treatment concepts into dental training.

Dr. Chang completed her Advanced Education in Prosthodontics at Tufts University, where she served as President of the postgraduate prosthodontics program. Her training emphasized surgical prosthodontics, implant dentistry, and complex restorative rehabilitation, including digital treatment planning and guided implant surgery. She has extensive experience utilizing contemporary digital workflows such as EXOCAD, CoDiagnostix, DTX, and 3Shape for implant planning and restorative treatment.

She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from New York University College of Dentistry, graduating with Honors in Faculty Practice.

In addition to her academic role, Dr. Chang practices in private clinical settings where she provides comprehensive dental care and manages complex restorative and implant-related cases. Her clinical experience includes implant placement and restoration, full-mouth rehabilitation, esthetic dentistry, surgical extractions, crown lengthening, soft tissue surgery, sinus augmentation, socket preservation, and both fixed and removable prosthodontic treatment. Her ongoing clinical work allows her to bring contemporary techniques and real-world clinical perspectives into the education and mentorship of dental students.

At Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Chang teaches fixed prosthodontics to second-year dental students in the preclinical setting and supervises third- and fourth-year students in the clinic. She guides students through comprehensive prosthodontic treatment planning and restorative procedures while emphasizing precision in clinical technique, strong clinical fundamentals, and the integration of digital dentistry into modern prosthodontic practice. She is committed to mentoring students in developing sound clinical judgment and delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care.

Her clinical and academic interests include implant-supported prostheses, digital prosthodontics, esthetic dentistry, and comprehensive prosthodontic rehabilitation, including full-arch implant rehabilitation (All-on-X) and full-mouth reconstruction. Dr. Chang is committed to advancing contemporary prosthodontic care through the integration of digital technologies, interdisciplinary collaboration, and evidence-based treatment planning.

Dr. Chang is fluent in English and Korean and is an active member of the American College of Prosthodontists, the American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics, the American Dental Association, and the International Team for Implantology (ITI).
