Thaisa Barizan Bordin
Dr. Thaisa Bordin received her dental degree (D.D.S.) from the State University of West of Parana in Cascavel, Brazil in 2011. Following graduation, she completed her Certificate in Prosthodontics, Master of Science in Dentistry, and Doctor of Philosophy in Dental Sciences Program at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Dr. Bordin was awarded with scholarship during her M.Sc. and Ph.D., which allowed her to become a visiting student for a year in the Postgraduate Prosthodontics Program at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine (TUSDM). She also worked in private practice for about 4 years before moving to the United States.
Dr. Bordin then joined TUSDM as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics, teaching and training full-time pre-doctoral students in pre-clinic and clinic. Dr. Bordin imparts to her students her passion for continuous learning and improvement in pursuit of esthetic and functional results. She is committed to high-quality and compassionate care. She continues conducting research on dental implants, dental prostheses, dental materials, and dental technologies.
Dr. Bordin is a member of the American Dental Education Association (ADEA), the Brazilian Society for Dental Research (SBPqO) - the Brazilian Division of the IADR, and serve as a faculty advisor to the Tufts chapter of the American Association of Women Dentists (AAWD).
Her clinical areas of interest focus on fixed and removable prostheses, dental implants, digital workflow, minimally invasive dentistry, and esthetic dentistry. Dr. Bordin’s academic interests include evidence-based care, research, and the integration of technology in dental education.
