Are you interested in being a research participant? TUSDM is currently recruiting for the following studies:
Dental Implant Study
This study will evaluate the effect of a locally delivered antibiotic around diseased dental implants. We are looking for volunteers who are at least 21 years old, with overall good medical and dental health, who have at least one dental implant diagnosed with per-implantitis. The study consists of a total of five visits over a six-month period. Volunteers will receive compensation for their time.
Dry Mouth Study
Looking for patients with dry mouth who are 18 years or older and have incipient lesions (newly formed cavities). Participation takes place over six weeks and involves two visits. We will collect and analyze saliva samples, conduct a thorough oral examination and complete ICDAS charting (a cavity detection system). Compensation is $25 at the first visit and $75 at the last visit, totaling $100.
Impacted 3rd Molar Extraction Study
This study is evaluating the effectiveness of an experimental medication on nausea and pain after the surgical extraction of impacted third molar teeth. We are seeking patients who are at least 18 years old who have at least 2 impacted third molar teeth needing a surgical extraction. Participants must be willing and able to record safety and efficacy information on In-Clinic and Outpatient Diaries. Patients must also have transportation from the research center and be accompanied by a responsible adult.
