• Sjogren’s Syndrome – The division is known for their research Sjogren’s Syndrome and includes activities such as identification of biomarkers for the disease, research on the effect of Omega-3 fatty acids on salivation, assessment of cognitive dysfunction associated with Sjogren’s Syndrome and numerous FDA trials on potential therapeutic interventions.
• Xerostomia – The divisions’ research covers dry mouth caused by Sjogren’s Syndrome, cancer therapy, bone marrow transplant and side effects of medications.
• Geriatrics – The division also researches oral healthcare for geriatric patients including the progression of periodontal disease and caries.
