Tufts Dental is the primary voice of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. The magazine has two primary missions:

• Reporting on the contributions of the school’s alumni to oral health care, dental research and dental education as well as on significant programs at the school, with the goal of increasing alumni/ae pride in the institution.
• Expanding the breadth of the magazine’s content by using alumni and faculty as sources for stories on trends in the dental profession and how the profession is changing in an era of managed care.

The magazine is a merger of the former Dental Alumni Notes and Dental Record, and combines the best of a university publication and a general interest magazine. It is published semiannually by Dean Huw F. Thomas, the Tufts University Dental Alumni Association, the Dental Alumni Relations Office and Tufts’ Office of Communications and Public Relations.
