Foundation of Leadership program- (FOL) program series -Eligible employees are allowed to attend an extended program designed to further develop management/leadership skills.

Thank You Award- Location: Boston. The “Thank You Award” is a tool managers can use to reward an individual staff member or group of staff members for going above and beyond the scope of their job. Tufts Technology Services (TTS) provides free Instructor-led Application software training to faculty and staff on all three campuses.

TUSK- Tufts University Sciences Knowledgebase: Tufts University Hirsh Health Sciences Library, with the support of the Medical, Dental, and Veterinary schools, has created a dynamic multimedia knowledge management system (TUSK) to support faculty and students in teaching and learning.  TUSK provides a portal to an integrated body of knowledge and ways to personally organize the vast array of health information through its online curricular materials and related applications. http://tusk.tufts.edu//

Office Skills– Location All three campuses. Tufts Technology Services (TTS) Provides free Instructor-led application software training  to faculty and staff on all three campuses. Lynda.com– Online. TTS Training and Documentation is pleased to offer a limited number of temporary Lynda.com licenses to faculty and staff. Licenses will be granted on a first come, first served basis and will be usable only for a one month period. AxiUm – Location: Boston and eight satellite Dental Clinics located throughout the state of Massachusetts.axiUm is an Electronic Health Record (EHR) technology software The software allows the Dental school to manage all aspects of their clinical, financial and student operation. http://www.axiumdental.com/academic/dental-academic/

TRUNK- Location: Trunk is Tufts University’s open-source, learning management system that offers faculty and students a collaborative online environment to support teaching and learning. Institutional Data 101: What’s the Right Thing to Do- General record keeping strategies and rules at Tufts. Reviews strategies for organizing data and records to support people’s work effectively and protect information appropriately. Provides an overview of key Tufts policies concerning data and records management.

Institutional Data 102: How to do the Right Thing- Storing, destroying, and saving records at Tufts. Provides details on various data and records storage options and strategies at Tufts, properly destroying information, and how to transfer records to the Digital Collections and Archives when you need to preserve records and data for the long term.

Lab and Safety Training

OSHA- Location: Online. Occupational Safety and Health Administration Workplace Safety trainingProvides training and education in occupational safety and health; held annually, in person for staff members and online for faculty. CPR- Location: Boston. Basic Life Support training and certification is commonly required of health care and other working professionals whose job positions place them at risk for needing to provide CPR to a co-worker, patient or visitor. This training is held in the fall and spring; online portion and classroom portion with manikin. HIPPA- Location: Online. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 gives patients a right to privacy and governs the use of protected health information (PHI) in research and clinical care.This training can be completed at any time through the website with log-in credentials. Customer Focus Forum– Location: Boston Develop skills to enhance the quality of customer interactions. Participate in a cohort that defines what exceptional service means to customers. Share ideas on how to build and strengthen relationships with customers. Effective Meeting Management– Location: Boston Effective meetings require a great deal of preparation, participation and follow-up. Foundations of Administrative Support– Location: Boston Jobs in the administrative job family require a great deal of organizational skills and knowledge to navigate Tufts University processes and systems. The FAST program covers the following topics: Technology, Tufts Support Services (TSS), Meeting and Event Planning, and eServe and Performance Development delivered by knowledgeable faculty from these functional areas.  You will benefit from the opportunity to network, learn about new developments and discuss best practices. 2 full days. Influencing and Communication– Location: Boston Whether we are communicating one on one, in a team or project meeting, with colleagues or customers, our interactions with others are opportunities to developtrust and interpersonal influence. The Influencing and Communication Skills workshop gives you the opportunity to practice the skills and techniques for effective communication and building interpersonal influence with others. Navigating the Transition of Change– Location: Boston. Change is a constant and fact of life in organizations around the world. Although individuals may react differently when faced with it, we all go through a similar process when dealing with change. In the Navigating the Transition of Change workshop, you will discuss the drivers of organizational change. You will learn tips for navigating the phases of change, strategies for “letting go” of the old.  You will also be able to identify the benefits and opportunities that change may bring you. Performance Planning– Location: Boston. A well written Performance Plan is your blueprint to successfully support your department, identify priorities, and develop skills and competencies. Providing Effective Feedback- Location: Boston. Feedback is an important element of employee development. Whether you are a manager or supervisor giving feedback to a direct report, a colleague giving feed back to another colleague or an employee giving feedback to your manager, feedback delivered effectively can help the recipient develop his/her skills and competencies, and achieve his/her goals. You will be introduced to the guidelines and communication skills for providing effective positive and constructive feedback. Additionally you will have the opportunity to apply what you learn and practice a real life feedback conversation as a capstone activity. Tufts Marathon Team Volunteer– Location: Boston. The Boston Athletic Association (BAA) has allotted Tufts an exclusive number of volunteer spots on Marathon Day. Volunteering at the Marathon is a great opportunity to participate in this historic Boston tradition. Your service on race day provides all runners, including your fellow Jumbos, with the support they need to finish the 26.2-mile course. Eco-Ambassador Program: Through an education- and action-focused curriculum, the Eco-Ambassador (EA) program provides participants with the resources, skills, and knowledge necessary to effect change, serve as leaders, and promote sustainable behaviors both in their offices and in the larger Tufts community. Using the tools, information, and competencies developed during sessions facilitated by the Tufts Office of Sustainability, Eco-Ambassadors lead departmental efforts to implement, and educate colleagues about, environmentally sustainable practices and receive ongoing resources and support from the Office of Sustainability.
